Beauty and performance with minimum environmental impact
At Omnis By System’, we realize the important part we play in protecting our environment for future generations, which is why we are doing everything we can to minimize our carbon footprint. Not only in the manufacture of our cladding products and the sourcing of raw materials, but also in their application and long term impact.
Products
Our cladding solutions are long-term, low maintenance systems that can claim to be even more eco-friendly than some natural materials. Whilst natural wood or stone requires regular maintenance with harsh chemical cleaning agents – not to mention the need for more regular replacement – our cladding systems don’t require painting or treating and will stay looking their best for up to 30 years.
Materials
We take care to source our raw materials from sustainable supplies wherever possible. For example, our weatherboarding cladding system, Colorpan, is manufactured from waste wood shavings sourced from professionally managed, sustainable forests. And our Petrarch cladding panels are composed of over 50% reconstituted natural stone.
Energy efficiency
Being energy efficient is one of the simplest ways to reduce your carbon footprint. Our rainscreen cladding systems can allow for the inclusion of a layer of insulation within the cavity zone, this will help towards the saving of energy wastage and therefore help to improve energy efficiency of the building.
Waste management
Petrarch has been manufactured in the UK for over 30 years, and panels can be ordered cut to size at the factory, reducing cuts and waste at the construction site. When packing the panels for transport to the site, we use minimum packaging materials consisting of recycled cardboard and wood for a pallet base. The wood materials are also common construction materials that are often re-used at the job site or by others.
Recycling
We try to recycle and re-use wherever possible; even the sheets of paper which protect our Petrarch cladding panels during processing are recycled by SITA UK. We also use the cladding off-cuts from manufacture as our cladding sample squares. We want to keep all waste to a minimum and our talented design and estimating personnel are here to meet your specification requirements, optimise panel usage and minimise waste.
Our commitment
We realize the important part we play in protecting our environment for future generations, which is why we are doing everything we can to minimize our carbon footprint.
